“Train to the End of the World” (Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?) is an original anime series that mixes adventure, comedy and science fiction in a post-apocalyptic setting. Directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and animated by EMT Squared, the story follows Shizuru Chikura and three other girls who board an abandoned train to find their missing friend in a world radically transformed by 7G technology.
In a rural town where strange phenomena affect the inhabitants, Shizuru and her friends cross devastated landscapes and meet characters as bizarre as they are diverse. Each stop of the train reveals new challenges and mysteries, from mini-armies to villages with transformed inhabitants. The series explores themes of survival, friendship and personal discovery, while maintaining a light and humorous tone despite the dystopian setting.
